Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about sizing, light blocking, installation, care, shipping, and returns.
How do I choose the right curtain size?

Measure the width and height of your window before ordering. For a fuller, more gathered look, we recommend choosing a total curtain width that is approximately 1.5 to 2 times the width of your window or curtain rod.

For length, measure from the curtain rod to the point where you would like the curtains to end.

Are the listed sizes for one panel or the full set?

Please check the product title and size option carefully. Many of our curtain products are sold as 2-panel sets, while some styles may be sold as a single panel.

For example, a size listed as 42" × 84" - 2PCS means the package includes two curtain panels, each measuring approximately 42 inches wide by 84 inches long.

How much light do blackout curtains block?

Light-blocking performance depends on the curtain fabric, color, and room conditions. Darker colors generally provide stronger room-darkening performance than lighter colors.

Our blackout curtains are designed to significantly reduce incoming light and provide increased privacy, making them suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, nurseries, and other spaces where light control is important.

Are sheer curtains completely see-through?

Sheer curtains are designed to softly filter natural light while maintaining an airy look. They provide daytime privacy, but silhouettes may still be visible, especially at night when indoor lights are turned on.

For greater privacy, sheer curtains can be layered with blackout or room-darkening curtains.

What is the difference between blackout and sheer curtains?

Blackout curtains are designed to reduce incoming light and provide greater privacy.

Sheer curtains allow more natural light into the room while softening glare and creating a light, elegant appearance.

Many customers layer sheer curtains with blackout curtains for flexible light control throughout the day.

How should I measure my window for curtains?

First, measure the width of your curtain rod or window area. For a fuller appearance, choose curtain panels with a combined width greater than the width of the window.

Then measure from the curtain rod down to your desired curtain length. Depending on your preferred look, curtains can end at the windowsill, below the sill, at the floor, or slightly puddle on the floor.

Are curtain rods included?

Unless specifically stated in the product description, curtain rods and installation hardware are not included.

Please check the product details for the curtain top style, such as rod pocket, grommet, or other hanging options, to make sure it works with your curtain rod.

Are the colors exactly the same as shown online?

We do our best to display product colors as accurately as possible. However, actual colors may vary slightly due to lighting conditions, photography, screen settings, and different device displays.

If you are matching curtains to existing furniture or décor, please allow for minor color variations.

How do I care for my curtains?

Most MKHILL curtains are designed for easy home care. Care instructions may vary by fabric and product, so always check the care label before washing.

In general, we recommend washing with cold water on a gentle cycle and using mild detergent. Avoid bleach unless specifically allowed. Use low heat or air dry when possible to help maintain the fabric’s appearance.

Will blackout curtains help with heat and outside noise?

Blackout and heavier curtain fabrics may help reduce heat transfer and soften some outside noise by adding an extra fabric layer between the room and the window.

However, curtains are not designed to provide complete soundproofing or replace professional insulation.
